Surface Architects – Razorfish HQ

December 6th, 2005

Surface Architects won a limited competition to design a radical landmark headquarters for the once monolithic but now defunct Internet design company Razorfish, with an explosion of sensory layers to provide a complex and varied environment for 500 staff.

Although the design was completed, the company went bust and the project was never realized.

I just wanted to point out that Razorfish isnt exactly defunct.

I work for Avenue A – Razorfish in NYC. Our office has 450 employees which should double in the next 4 years. It is the largest and most successful company of its kind and was recently purchased by Microsoft for 6 billion dollars.

The name is no longer “Razorfish” exactly but it is by no means “defunct”.
